Boby Limijaya, born in Tangerang, 1980, has been playing music since 6 years old. After he graduated from Pelita Harapan University, majoring in piano classical music, he decided to continue his study at Berklee College Of Music, Boston, USA, on scholarship. He took two majors: Jazz Piano Performance And Jazz Composition.
Boby was awarded prestigious 2009 Herb Pomeroy award for excellence in jazz composition by Berklee College of Music. His experience in music are amongst other playing in Java Jazz and Jak Jazz.
Boby played at 2012 Java Jazz with his 8 Horns Jazz Band, where he presented his original compositions. The instrumentation of 8 horns jazz band comprised piano, electric guitar, electric bass, drums, percussions, 2 trumpets, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, 2 trombones, flute and clarinet.
