The Malang-born Syaharani has had jazz preference since young. She started to make a living out of singing in early 90's. Bubi Chen discovered her talent in a pub, then brought her into his album project What a Wonderful World, released in 1998. It was in this occassion that she met some of the most important figures in the industry such as Benny Likumahuwa and Oele Pattiselano. She produced her first solo album Love in 1999, and two years later represented Indonesia in North Sea Jazz event, Netherlands.

She produced her second album Magma in 2002, which is deliberately more pop-nuanced. She exhibited more of her jazz characteristics in the third album, which contains popular cover songs such as the Whiter Shade of Pale and Careless Whisper. Al Jarreau, Dave Koz, Keith Martin, and the Yellowjackets has shared their the stages with her on their concerts in Indonesia.

Besides acting in stage play and movie, Syaharani initiated a collaboration with Achmad Fareed and former Krakatau guitarist Donny Suhendra under the new name Syaharani and the Queenfireworks. They released the first album Buat Kamu in 2006, and the following in 2010. Her new band play a variety of musical genres, even applying electronic music elements.
