Sarimanouk Quartet is Talafaral Ramiandriosa (saxophone and clarinet), Yudo Nugroho Dodi Sundjojo (bass), Julian Abraham Marantika (piano), and Sandy Winarta (drum). The name derives from a ship used around 1 BC by Balinese sailors on the journey to Madagascar. The ship's name turned out to be a name of a sacred bird in Bali. Now it carries 3 Indonesian and a Madagascar musicians on the same boat to create a modern music that brims with experiments and distinctive musical expressions by each members, but strongly rooted in jazz.

Ramiandriosa Faralahiherivolannirina Andrianolazaina, or Talafaral, Sarimanouk's saxophonist, learned piano in early age in Madagascar before he switched to saxophone. The American of Madagascar descent is now a prolific composer and music teacher in his second home. He was awarded Best Jazz Instrumentalist at the Indonesian AMI Awards.

Donny Sundjoyo learned bass from Bintang Indrianto and Indro Hardjodikoro. He also played with Joe Rosenberg Trio in Idang Rasjidi's Live at Four Season album.

Julian Abraham Marantika learned music from the Indonesian jazz legend Benny Likumahuwa. He went on learning piano from Riza Arshad and Krisna Balagita. Julian has for several times participated in the Java Jazz Festival 2007 and 2008, Pasar Jazz 2006 and Goethe-held Serambi Jazz.

Sandy Winarta, a natural pianist, switched to drum as he enrolled in the Institute of Music in Sydney, Australia. He earned bachelor degree in Music Performance in 2006.
