Goodspell

The strongest impression listeners have about this album, I can surely tell, is the vivid display of a finely made composition. That said, all the tracks are composed in a 4/4 rhythm. But what it lacks in seemingly monotonous tempo, he compensates it in a nice melody. It fits the common taste, so to speak. But don’t get it wrong, it’s still jazz, but a commercial one. In this regard, this country has its long-standing reputation to thrive in this niche. I might not imply that this album is just another commonality you see sitting on jazz shelves at music stores, but honestly it does little when it comes to offering something different to dull ears. Barry Likumahuwa, as far as I know, has got the hang of funk when holding his instrument. He definitely does not fall short of the trait in this album.
